Include Waiting Time in an Insulated-Parcel Trial

A carrier’s advertised transit period leaves a procurement question unanswered: when does the packed parcel first enter the conditions that the trial must represent? Build a timeline from packing through actual receipt, including waits before collection and after attempted delivery. Agree that timeline before comparing proposed insulated mailers.

Start with one identified packing configuration

YUANEN’s self-adhesive foil bag has a peel-and-seal opening and heat-sealed edges. The product page requires the bag to be matched to filled contents, with practical temperature retention assessed for the complete loaded system. For a postal application, identify the inner container, bag version, closure, any proposed coolant and transport outer together. A bag photograph does not define a tested shipping system.

Keep that configuration reference beside every timing record. If the contents, outer carton or coolant change, identify which earlier observations still apply and what needs another trial. Do not transfer a previous route result to a different pack simply because it uses the same bag size.

Record the gaps between transport events

Use only stages that exist on the intended route. For each stage, enter planned start and finish, observed start and finish when available, the time zone, location or known conditions, information source and responsible party. Mark an unavailable time or environment as unknown. Do not enter zero merely because the carrier has no scan for that interval.

Keep elapsed time and temperature evidence distinct

Check for overlaps before adding stage durations: a transfer wait may already sit inside the carrier’s total transit time. Keep both records with their definitions rather than double-counting them. Where records are incomplete, state which exposure interval remains unbounded and ask the responsible party to resolve it.

Collection scans, proof of delivery and photographs can support event timing. They do not establish the temperature of the contents. Keep any temperature record linked to its actual measurement arrangement and pack reference; absence of a reading remains missing evidence. This guide supplies no universal delay hours, food-safety temperature limit or retention rating.

Agree the trial against the actual route

Send YUANEN the identified packing configuration, intended route, timeline, known conditions, unresolved intervals, quantity and destination. Ask the relevant packaging and logistics parties to agree which normal and exceptional conditions the trial should represent and which acceptance requirements apply. Record who will resolve each open item before interpreting the result.

Confirm construction, usable dimensions, sample and supply scope in writing. The timeline is a planning record for a closed postal parcel, not a multi-stop opening procedure or proof of temperature performance. Full-system assessment remains separate; the cover only shows a pouch-and-carton packing format.
