ProAmpac Introduces Shelf Protect Food-Contact Films
ProAmpac’s 19 October 2026 US announcement introduces Shelf Protect films for selected meat, seafood and dairy applications. The company says outcomes depend on the food, processing and storage conditions, requiring application-specific trials.

Ask for the exact film and intended use
For a buyer considering this announcement, the first useful record is an identifiable film specification from its supplier. Record the food, packaging format and operating conditions proposed for evaluation. A general technology name alone is insufficient to match a quotation, sample and subsequent order. This is editorial purchasing guidance, not a new approval requirement.
Keep the supplier’s application evidence with that specification. A result for one food or storage setup should not be silently carried into another order. Record which conditions remain unconfirmed and who will resolve them before the purchasing decision. Do not infer a fixed extension in shelf life from a launch headline.
Keep film-trial and liner-sample records distinguishable
YUANEN’s current foil insulated box liner page leaves foam type, thickness and layer arrangement for confirmation. Its white foam outer box is a demonstration prop excluded from the liner quotation. The current product record does not establish food-contact suitability or prove a tested temperature duration.
For an evaluation involving both components, record the film revision and the liner sample as separate entries in the pack specification. Identify the outer box, coolant and packing arrangement used with them. If a later trial changes one component, mark that change rather than carrying forward the earlier assembly result under an unchanged pack name. This record discipline is our purchasing interpretation; it does not prescribe or validate a food trial.
Make the enquiry traceable to the proposed pack
Send YUANEN the liner sample reference, the proposed trial-pack revision and the components requested in its quotation. Keep the food-contact film supplier’s evidence attached to that film, and the liner supplier’s specification attached to the liner. Ask who owns unresolved interface questions before treating the complete pack as accepted. Confirm construction, sampling and commercial terms in writing. The announcement does not establish a supply relationship between YUANEN and ProAmpac.
