Hivest Acquires Recycled-Fiber and Paper Producer Sustana
Hivest Capital Partners announced on 23 October 2026 that it had completed the acquisition of Sustana, a recycled-fiber and paper producer operating in the United States and Canada. The announcement names a new corporate owner; it does not identify a replacement paper grade for a particular packaging order.

The announcement covers recovery, fiber and paper operations
Hivest describes an integrated business that collects recovered paper, makes specialty fiber and produces paper for markets including food packaging. It says it will work with management on mill reliability, energy and raw-material efficiency, procurement and targeted investments. These are the new owner’s plans, rather than verified improvements in delivery, material properties or packaging performance.
The dated release establishes that completion had been announced by 23 October. It does not separately specify the legal closing day or promise revised terms for an individual customer. Buyers following this transaction should obtain any order-specific change from their actual supplying party.
Keep ownership changes distinct from a packaging substitution
For a paper-based packaging enquiry, keep three references together: the actual supplying entity on the quotation, the paper or other layer reference being offered, and the finished sample revision. Ask the supplier to identify which of these has changed. A new owner alone does not establish a new material, and a paper producer’s name alone does not identify the converter or complete bag being purchased. This is a suggested purchasing check, not a change reported by Hivest.
YUANEN’s current paper insulated delivery bag is a custom-design proposal with a kraft-paper exterior and a reflective inner layer whose complete composition still needs confirmation. It is an open-top format with a broad base and short paper handles. If a different paper is proposed for that design, name the affected layer and sample revision in the enquiry; retain the unresolved inner-layer specification. The acquisition does not establish that Sustana supplies this bag or that its complete construction has recycled content, recyclability or food-contact approval.
The linked material-claim guide explains the separate evidence questions in more detail. For this news item, the practical action is to record an ownership update without silently changing an agreed material or sample. Actual composition, supplied scope and performance remain subject to supporting documents, the order and the agreed sample.
